What exactly does 'sleeping through the night' mean?
Sometimes Gideon will sleep a good solid seven hours (not last night, of course), but that means he wakes up at 5am....and that's not really morning yet....not for me, anyway. Can I have a goal of him sleeping from 10 to 8? Probably not, huh?

Tomorrow's forecast: 76 and sunny. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Just a regular day....

Gideon has brought me lots of joy today. He's been awake a lot. While that means he gets cranky sometimes, it also means he gets smiley. And we've had the opportunity to do a lot of stuff together.

Tummy time seems to be getting better for him (still not his favorite, though)...and today I could swear he was reaching for a little rattle on his tummy time mat.

He follows me everywhere with his big baby blues, which I love.

We tried something new today, too. I had gotten an adoption magazine and there was an article about using massage to promote bonding. I thought it sounded fun and I hadn't had a chance to use his baby Burt's Bees Apricot Oil (I love Burt's Bees baby products!), so I thought we'd give it a shot. It was actually an enjoyable experience for both of us. He seemed to like it and I know I did! And I don't know if it was the massage, but he's finally sleeping.

His sleeping through the night that I wrote about in my last post was indeed a fluke, but I still can't complain since he only wakes up every four-ish hours.

Gideon is SUCH a good kid!
He has started smiling in response to my smiles--amazing! That brings me so much joy and causes me to look quite goofy as I smile as big as I can any time he looks at me. I promise to put up pictures of his smiles (not mine) soon!
Also, the past couple nights, he's practically slept THROUGH THE NIGHT. Is that even possible? It's probably just a fluke, but last night I fed him at 9:30, put him in his crib at 11ish, and he slept til 5:30...he was awakeish but wasn't even crying when Ole went to feed him.
I am so amazed at how he is developing and growing. He's such a blessing! I think he just might be the best baby ever.

I just couldn't resist trying some naked shots again. This kid has cute cheeks (four of them)!
