Thanks Grandma!

Gideon got a card from his grandma. I decided to let him hold it for pictures, and I just loved what developed :). I couldn't decide on a favorite, so I'm posting all of them...I'm sure Grandma won't mind looking at all of them!

Gideon's first time eating rice cereal.
He wasn't so sure what to do the first time, but quickly caught on and is quite the eater now.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure that this kid would win ANY cutest kid contest.
I challenge you to find someone cuter that this!

It's Official!

Today we went to court to finalize Gideon's adoption. As soon as we got into the courtroom, Gideon got very calm and just sat quietly on my lap--like he knew something important was going on. The process took all of five minutes. The judge asked us some questions (my dad's favorite was when she looked over at him and my sister and asked if they were the grandparents), and then she said that we were now legal guardians of our son. I got teary at that part. To me, as this day was approaching, it seemed like just a formality. There's really nothing that's changed in our hearts or minds...we've loved him since the day we met him (and even before that). But it's great that everything is official.

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the weekend with family at Inspiration Point Bible Camp.
Gideon was excited to be going.

And he was happy to see Uncle Pete there!

While he was there, he remembered how to roll over. He hasn't rolled over in about a month, but now he's doing it lots! In this photo, though, he went half way and then decided to stop.

N. and Pete tied balloons in their hair.

The merry-go-round was a HUGE hit.

Baseball was also a hit....

My belly:

Gideon zonked out just in time for family photos:

This is probably the worst of the 'grandkids' shots that I got, but it also happens to be my favorite.
Kids are funny--especially these!

And I just can't get enough of this duo:
