Gideon was moved to the "Growers" section of the NICU last night. He's doing well. He has his oxygen back on because he forgets to breathe sometimes during feeding. But he is becoming a fantastic eater! It's so fun to watch him suck on that bottle and hear his little grunts as he gets so excited. I think they'll probably remove his feeding tube soon since he's almost at full feedings. The nurse told us this morning that he might have to come home with the oxygen on, but she really didn't seem to be worried about that.
Last night Ole got to give him a bath, which was fun to watch. Gideon didn't even cry...I think he liked it :). He's also starting to open his eyes more, which is delightful! He was weighed last night and he's definitely earned his spot in the "Growers" category.
We moved to the Ronald McDonald House yesterday. It's so much more convenient because it's right by the hospital...we just walk over.
Glad that Gideon is growing....woo hoo for baths!!
ReplyDeleteWe REJOICE with you guys and what awesome looking parents in the photos also! Your son is warrior and I believe that God will continue to reveal that. Hope you are allowed to return to the Great White North real soon!

As I recall, the four little kids here, also, forgot to breathe when they sucked but they eventually got it and didn't have to go home with O2. So maybe...love you guys, can't wait to see and hold Gideon but not today....it's a blizzard out! Grandma O.
